In Memory of Colette Baine (Dec. 3, 2004–Aug. 27, 2022)

On August 27, 2022, the basketball world and our community lost a special individual, Colette Baine, to epilepsy. A rising senior at Woodgrove High School, Colette was a member of the varsity basketball program where she was honored with multiple awards including All District, All Region, Potomac District Player of the Year, and Region 5C Conference Player of the Year. Colette was an original member of Loudoun Flight at the program’s founding, and she played her entire AAU career with Flight, most recently for Coach Ant Brown’s 17U Showcase team. On the court, Colette worked harder than any other player, demanded excellence from herself and her teammates, was the rare player who could play any position, and did whatever her team needed from her. But more importantly, those who knew her were blessed to know a caring, energetic, upbeat, fun-spirted individual who took it upon herself to make those around her feel loved and welcomed. Colette embodied every characteristic that we seek to instill in our student-athletes. Colette will forever live in our hearts and her Flight sisters, and her new Fusion sisters, will continue to honor Colette's memory.
